Background

I downloaded Mapping on Demand, 1:25,000 scale, 12,500 sq km for France
using the CD that it came on, and purchased some of the map area allowance. I did that on my desktop computer a couple of months ago.

I would like to reload the software and already-bought map area on to a Netbook I just acquired. I'll continue my planning on the Netbook.

Questions

1. Do I need to migrate the license to do this?

2. If so, how does one manually migrate the license to the Netbook? Do I start to do this with the desktop or with the Netbook?

3. How does one reload the software on to the Netbook? So that I get the picture, let's assume that I can get the Netbook to hook up to a CD reader from which I can reload the software. Do I just use the CD and type in the username and password when prompted, and then it just happens? (When I tried to download the software from the Internet, and activate it using my username and password, it just gave me 30 days trial period.)

4. Now, given that I haven't currently got a CD-reader that will hook up to the Netbook, but that I do have a 8Gb flash drive, how do I migrate the software to the Netbook with that?

5. How do I migrate the mapped area to the Netbook?

Many thanks.

Yes, you will need to migrate your licence

It is easier if you perform the migration from the NetBook. Please see here for full instructions regarding the Licence Managment features: http://w2.memory-map.com/WebHelp/license_management.htm

Once you have migrated your licence, the full resources will be activated.

I am afraid you cannot, as this would licence the removable drive rather than the NetBook hard drive.

Once you have migrated the licence you will need to redownload the mapping.

Thanks

Would MM please clear up this question once and for all. It has been left unanswered in another place on the forum.

Can the MM (European Edition) v 5.4.2 software and V5 maps be used on a laptop in addition to a PC? This would enable the ADV2800 to be used whilst away from home.

If so, how is this achieved? I know that migrating the licence would "kill" the regristration on the original machine (i.e. the PC)

Thanks

Im pretty sure that has been answered a few times on this forum.
The licence for Digital Map Shop mapping is for 1 PC and 1 Mobile Device.
The older disk based mapping can still be used on 2 PCs and 2 Mobile Devices.

Thanks

Thanks Jason, that's a very clear, definitive answer. All my current mapping is CD based so that suits me fine!!
