Downloading, Installing, and Registering
Download the Memory-Map V5 European Edition software from here: http://www.memory-map.co.uk/downloads/m ... os_540.msi
Save the file to a location you can remember on your computer. Once the download has completed, double click on the installer file to run the installation.
Once completed, you will see an icon on your desktop named Memory-Map European Edition. Double click on the icon to finalise the installation.
The software will now open and a refresh map list window may appear, if it does press CLOSE. Also press CLOSE on the second map list window.
Now press HELP > LICENCE MANAGEMENT from the menu bar.
You will see a window with a number of options. Press SIGN IN > CREATE ACCOUNT.
Select the User ID and Password. These can be whatever you want and are completely up to you to decide. Once you have decided the User ID and Password fill in the rest of the form and press OK.
You have now registered the Memory-Map software ready for use.

Selecting and Downloading Digital Map Areas
Now you need to download a base map. You can download an A-Z GB ROUTE PLANNER map from here: http://www.memory-map.co.uk/downloads/gb_routeplan.zip
Save the file onto your PC, and then open the .zip folder. Copy the files inside to the C:\MAPS_V5 folder on the PC.
Once done, refresh the map list in Memory-Map and the A-Z GB ROUTE PLANNER MAP be shown. Double click on the map to open it.
Now scroll the A-Z GB ROUTE PLANNER map until you find the area of Great Britain that you wish to purchase and download using Memory-Map DMS Top-Up.
Once you have found the area, use the ROUTE tool from the toolbar and draw around the area. Once your route is complete, double click on the first waypoint to automatically enclose the area.
Now right click on the route and select DIGITAL MAP SHOP. A new window will now open, showing you a list of available maps. Select the map type you wish to purchase and press CONTINUE.
A further window will now open, showing you the resource you are attempting to activate, the rights needed to complete, and the rights currently in your account. The rights in your account will currently be 0.
Press BUY NOW and you will be taken to a webpage. This webpage will list ALL of the available Memory-Map DMS products available for the map type you selected previously.
Select the product you wish to purchase and press BUY NOW.
Enter your debit/credit card details and press CONTINUE. Fill in the rest of the forum and eventually you will be returned to the Memory-Map software. A window will have popped up saying that the transaction had been successful. Press OK on this window.
You will now see the Activation window again. This will show you the resource you are attempting to activate, the rights needed to complete, and the rights currently in your account. The rights in your account will have been automatically updated to whichever Top-Up you purchased.
As long as the rights required is less than the rights in your account, and you are happy with the area to download press the ACTIVATE button.
Memory-Map will now go through a downloading process where it will download and activate the map tiles for your selected product. After this has completed you will see your purchased map on the screen.
If the rights required are greater than the rights in your account, you can press BUY NOW and purchase another Top-UP or you can press CANCEL and draw a smaller route.
So now, you have a Digital Map shown on your screen. YAY go you!

Activating the features for GPS and Printing
Press HELP > LICENCE MANAGEMENT from the menu bar. You will now see a window listing a number of resources. Single click on the resource PRINTING and press the button ACTIVATE. If you are asked to sign in do so now, if not you will see that the resource PRINTING has changed its status to FULL. This means that you can now print from this PC.
Single click on the feature for GPS and press the button ACTIVATE. If you are asked to sign in do so now, if not you will see that the resource GPS has changed its status to FULL. This means that you can now use a GPS device with this PC.
