Thanks, I think I'm getting a bit confused with the terminology - open/save vs import/export. I don't have an open option - only import.
So just to clarify, If I am using a newly installed version of memory map and I produce some routes. I then export as an mmo (i.e hikes.mmo) to my desired location.
When I close and restart MM it will open the default location and not my new hikes.mmo so any new edits are saved ONLY to the default location unless I export again to hikes.mmo?
In that case, once I have built up a series of mmo files (such as hiking, cycling, etc) I will have to empty the default mmo before importing an mmo I wish to edit and then export it again?
Correct. If you want to keep the data separate, you will need to go to OVERLAY > DELETE ALL before importing the next group.
It would still be helpful if the location of the default mmo could be changed so that it gets synced / backed up with my other files - is this possible.
sorry for being a bit dim but this works quite a bit differently to the Anquet database system I am used to.
The default MMO should be in your DOCUMENTS folder in the MAP OVERLAYS subfolder if you wish to back it up.
