When i now tap on MAPS the following error message pops up -
Memory map European OK X
The application was not
correctly closed the last time it was run
causing possible loss of data
please tap the red X button
before turning off the device.

When i tap on OK the error message the screen goes blank, I then tap the screen again and then tap power off.
The next time i power the unit on, when I tap maps the error message returns.
I cant get out of this to get to the maps ??
Please Help
Thank you

I have exactly the same problem. My unit had locked up whilst in use. The battery then ran out a couple of hours later and upon switching it back on I received this message. Don't bother trying to reset as upon reboot you have the same problem.

I have had my unit for only 5/6 weeks, it is great when it works, but this is disappointing for an expensive unit.

I have emailed support as indicated in the literature but not yet even received an automated reply. Come on support at least let us know you are working on it!

Also I do not anticipate any cost for the repair if I have to send it back. I may as well send it back to the retailer for a refund.

I raised a ticket via the knowledge base and received a prompt reply.

To fix you need to do the following:
1. Go to www.memory-map.co.uk/update
2. Open "FREE Download & Self-Update" and click on file and download
3. Using winzip (or equivalent) extract the files to a micro SD card as per the instructions. However after extracting them move the contents of the "ADV3500UPDATE" folder to the "root" directory of the microsd card.
4. Open up "Update by post" and click on "download them here" to get the step by step instructions

You should now have reset the device, mine worked. If you do not have a spare sd card available contact memory-map. If your unit is new I would expect this to be free of charge as their unit/software being faulty should not cost you anything. Myself I had a couple of spare microsd cards available from old blackberry's. microsd will need to be able to accomodate 109mb of files.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your reply.
I had also sent an email to support, I "did" get an automated reply but as yet after 3 days no further help ?, Very dissapointed, have only had my 3500 just over 2 weeks and have only used it twice.

I have downloaded, unziped and put the upgrade on a new micro sd card as per your instructions.

I'm now stuck !! - On your reply No:4 Open up "Update by post" etc etc ---Where do i do this ?

If you have time to reply i would be very gratefull.

Thnks again

Kind Regards
