Trying to add GB 1:50000 Map to my 3500.

I eventually managed to get this working but it now is giving me estimated times of -'xx' seconds, great i thought, then it gets down to a low number and jumps back up, always less than a minute though. After 30minutes I got bored and cancelled.

I am now trying to move the map how i would move any other file in windows with cut and paste. It is giving an estimate of between 1 and 5 hours.

The file im copying is the os50_gb_2012_complete.qc3 in to the 'Maps Folder on ADV3500.

Any tips or advice appreciated...does it always take this long???

There are any number of factors that affect transfer rates and the 3500 does not use the latest in high speed transfer technology. The file you are trying to transfer if very large and is going to take a significant amount of time to transfer.

Whoop Whoop...Its finished and it worked.

Next complaint, why do you (MM not you personally) put the whole of the GB on one map, I very rarely ride my bike off road around GB in a day so would it not be more space efficient to have each Country separate at least, or the regions like they do when selling them separately.

I suppose I could just send an enclosed section next time... At least i know now.
