why is the mileage recorded on any walks i do with other walkers is always less than the gps they use.
i have a A2800 theirs are garmin.
Looks like i will have to buy a Garmin.

Hi tony,

The "proof of the pudding" is does the MM tracklog (on the Adventurer or transferred to PC) look like what you actually walked? If so then the reported distance is probably correct. If there are "cut corners" then it may have under-read, if there are "spikes" then it may have over-read the "real" distance.

It may also depend on how long the GPS is switched on, it's sometimes amazing how much distance you can add whilst sitting in the pub! The problem with "trip computer" distances is that you can't check back to see if errors have been made.

I think your article mileage means city distance calculator. I like your topic so much. I also think your post is very useful to me. Thanks for your well sharing.
