Aye, I thought it was a beta. I assume that this means that the app will be released in the next 30 days:-).

Installed fine on my HTC Sensation.

If you are using our recent license-managed maps (whether downloaded from the DMS or on DVD), there is no additional license that needs to be activated.

If you are using older format maps from Memory-Map, you will need to purchase a Classic Map compatibility license, which is $20.

If you are using third-party maps, you will need an Import Maps license. If you imported these maps yourself using a recent version of Memory-Map on the PC, you already own this license.

All the purchasing options are available and are live now. The app will be a full release product very soon, and will not be going away, so go ahead and buy what you need.

This is the same cost structure that we have used for the iPhone. We would prefer our legacy customers to buy a whole new set of maps, but if they don't want to do that, they have to chip in to support the cost of new development.

Hi Richard.

I'm beta testing on a HTC Desire [running Android 2.2] AND a Lenovo IdeaPad K1 [running Android 3.1]

Can you clarify this comment:

"If you are using third-party maps, you will need an Import Maps license. If you imported these maps yourself using a recent version of Memory-Map on the PC, you already own this license."

I just uninstalled the original beta and downloaded and installed the beta posted Friday.
I've attempted to load one of my own [QCT] maps on the HTC
(This particular map I scanned and calibrated myself using my desktop Memory Map Navigator.)

This beta on the HTC prompted me to sign in my account, which I duly did (though I'm not sure why I need to for my own maps!) and is now telling me I have to 'Activate Import Maps'. When I hit 'Buy', various packages are offered ranging from $50USD to $1215USD!

When running the beta on the Lenovo, I'm prompted to sign in but the map appears to be activated already so I don't have to upgrade!

(This may be an issue with my original license. I was using an old iPaq so if that is tieing up a license, can that be deleted?)

Your copy of Memory-Map Navigator, used to import third party maps or to calibrate a scanned map image, comes with a license to use those maps on two mobile devices. If you need to move a license from an older device to your Android, you can "migrate" the license using the web login to your account. See:

If you send an email to support@memory-map.com, I can look at your licenses and see where they have been allocated.
