Hi, My solution (?) to the problem was different. I scanned a swiss map saving it as a TIFF and imported it into the MM on the PC. I was then able to calibrate it and it works in the field. I do not get the accuracy I would get from a proper digital map, but I have scanned a large area and that reduces the accuracy.

I have used this technique for other locations as well, currently I have an issue with the use of my 3500 on a scanned map as it is not showing a track, however, I supect this is another problem rather than the method of inserting a map.

Hope this helps - even a little!
