I could have sworn earlier versions of MM Android flipped to landscape view, the newer versions dont?? What gives?

I remember because as the time i thought to myself "god, at last something so basic a requirement has finally been implemented!", but now its gone.

I've just upgraded to v2.0.3-370 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 to discover the same thing. With the previous version the automatic screen rotation often caused a crash so in that respect I am relieved. It seems that the orientation of the map is determined by how the phone is being held when the M-M app is started which isn't necessarily bad. I haven't been able to find a detailed summary of how the new v370 features are supposed to work, in particular "Added lock screen rotation by pressing Menu button". As you say screen rotation seems to be permanently locked and I don't see anything when I press the menu button to lock or unlock rotation. Apart from that the app still crashes although it is no longer so obvious that this is related to the screen rotation feature.

The new version does lock to the orientation of the device when you open the app. If you are still getting a crash, please email me at support@memory-map.com with details (Android version, app version, actions that cause the crash).

Thanks for the comment USmmtech. I think that crashes (forced closures) are very rare now and only occur when interacting with the application menus. For example, after opening the Overlays page just now and switching from Marks to Tracks the screen goes blank for about 10 seconds followed by the "Unfortunately, Memory-Map has stopped." message. On restarting the app and repeating the same steps in the Overlays page everything is fine. On the other hand, while recording tracks for 3 hours during a bike ride yesterday and occasionally waking the screen up to see where I was the app was totally sound. I am running MM version 2.0.3-370 on a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android version 4.0.3.
