I have successfully loaded the Android app and 1;25000 map onto my Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet A1 but am unable to activate the map even though I am signed on. As a result I get only a small part of the map showing clearly and all the rest encrypted but visible. My licence is valid and already active on my desktop and laptop. Any suggestions?

You are trying to activate a different map. The downloaded map (intended for people who purchase the map by the sqkm) is a different activation than the full map on the disc. If you copy the map to the tablet (in the Download / Memory-Map folder), you will be able to activate it. You can tell the difference between the two 2012 maps in the list by looking for GB in the name (which is the full map you want to activate).

Thanks. I have tried again but without success so have decided to delete everything and go back to square one. I then get as far as the app searching for a location in order to load the base map but it never finds it. The GPS in the tablet is working because when I open Google maps they pick up the location almost immediately. If I try and sync with my desktop the computer picks up the existing contents of the tablet and displays them, but attempts to then send maps in the opposite direction appears to be working from the computer loading display but they never actually materialise on either the tablet or its SD card. Is there an incompatibility issue somewhere or am I doing something wrong when downloading the Android app and ending up with a corrupted version?

The moving of maps to the device is totally independent of the app (a simple file transfer function). If the maps are not moving to the device, there is something deeper happening here. How large are the maps you are sending?

The maps were the OS 1:50k GB memory map 2012 version with a size of 2.2 Gb and the much smaller 1:250k route planner. I have now definitely managed to get them acoss offline from my PC on to the tablet's additional SD card. However when I use the app it cannot find my location and endlessly searches whereas Google maps find it quickly. Is the GPS not powerful enough and/or is there something I can do to get into the maps even if I'm not going to be able to use all the functions?

Have you verified that you have copied both the QCT and QC3 files for each map?

I know this can be confusing, but the "per sqkm" maps and the full GB map are two different licenses. It looks like you have copied the full map over, but have tried to activate a "section" of the downloaded map. You have the resources in your account to activate. Go into your map list, ensure you open the map with GB in the name (OS 1:50k Landranger GB - 2012) and activate this map. If needed, go to MORE MAPS > ALL MAPS ON DEVICE and then MAP TYPES and select all.

I understand what you say but now wonder if the underlying problem is a syncing one between memory map software and the device. Both my pc and laptop know the device is there and confirm the details of the memory maps etc. on both the internal and additional sd cards within it. However the memory map software mobile device button on either pc or laptop does not enable me open up the install menu nor can I access a second License Management dialogue for the device through Help>License Management as outlined in the mobile devices instructions on your web page

Further to the previous communication I have now tried moving the device licence across from the pc as it will not download directly onto the device, replacing the android app over and over again, used ES file explorer to check that all the files are present( maps, licence, app) and still nothing. Whatever I do when I try to open the android app I always end up with ' Please wait - The app needs to find your location and download a map .....' message.
