Any update on this, I've just bought a Galaxy s3 and can't find a way to load MM at all. A bit disapointing as this was one of the reasons I bought the phone.

The app that is available asks me to 'Allow installation of non-Market applications'. but I can't find this, am I being stupid?

I can get Anquet and Mapyx for free through the rescue team I'm in however I've always used MM and so would prefer to stay with it but if i can't put it on my galaxy.....:(

If any one can tell me how to load it that would be appreciated...:)

idp,

The option will be within the settings of the phone itself.
On my S2 I have to go to SETTINGS > SECURITY > scroll down to DEVICE ADMINISTRATION > UNKNOWN SOURCES

Thanks

Hi jonjar,

Could you tell us which part of the standard method, Loading Your Existing Maps, isn't working for you, please?

I've had a quick look through the Asus manual & they seem to want everything to sync through their software, no mention of mounting the SD card as a disk. Are you able to access the SD card or internal storage from your desktop when the Asus is connected with a USB cable?

I see that Asus call their internal storage mnt/sdcard/ & their external storage Removable/MicroSD - do you know where the MM app has installed itself?

We are still waiting for the requested requested updating of the app software to enable our tablets to store maps for us on installed cards.
How much help do the developers want ?, many of the forum members above have posted the path that must be included in the appp for their tablet to "see" the installed card, but no update since March.....
I believe the app software is developed and run from the American end.....maybe they are caught up in election fever.....!!

Plea to developers...please get your fingers out and look after your customers..!!!!!!

regards
to the UK lads at memory Map...always been very helpful...

1 - connect the tablet to your PC with a usb cable & configure as a disk drive,
2 - use Windows Explorer to copy & paste your map files to the appropriate folder on the device,
3 - open in the app & activate on that device.

There are different versions of Android & manufacturers tend to add their own tweaks to the basic operating system, so the above method may not work on every device. However, it is very, very difficult to offer constructive advice if you don't tell us what problems you are having.

Connect to the pc using a usb cable, go to My Computer on the pc, does the tablet show up as a removable disk? If so, can you double click on it & then navigate to the Memory Map folder on the tablet?

Hope this isn't teaching granny but did you set your Android device to "Mass Storage" before connecting it to your laptop? To do this, go to Wireless and Network > USB Settings > and set to "Mass Storage". Also, you need to be aware that the pc shows the micro-SD card and the device as two separate drives (at least my pc does when my Android device is connected to it).
