Perhaps John, what Memory Map should have done (in a perfect world) is struck a deal with a company who knows what it’s about re its hardware GPS units, (no names mentioned but two come to mind). That way with a little bit of software ingenuity to allow existing memory maps to transfer to a rivals device that I feel most would gladly have paid for. This would have amounted to arguably the best mapping Software Company and a leading GPS Company combining to give perhaps the best all round GPS unit.

Financially this would have generated more revenue for Memory Map in the long term than launching a unit that has alienated Memory Maps customer base both old and new.

I have tried to get on with my 3500, which I still feel has the potential to be ‘great’, unfortunately though I need a unit that is trustworthy and I just cannot put my reliance in this device, especially if what I read here is a certainty. No support to me means I will look elsewhere for a product that works, that is reliable and in the event of failure has someone at the end of a phone or a PC that can give me solutions.

The aim of the Memory-Map forum has and always will be for a community driven support resource.
As such Memory-Map Europe staff will monitor the forum from time to time but not always respond to topics.

Technical Support is available via the Memory-Map Knowledge Base (http://www.memory-map.co.uk/kb)
We aim to answer all support enquiries sent via the Knowledge Base within 2 working days.

When phoning Memory-Map 9 times out of 10 you will get through to a member of the sales team. They are able to help with some of the more common technical issues.

Regards

Shouldn't the above reply be pinned somewhere upon high? Seems that numerous users are seeking help from Memory Map via this forum when it sounds like it isn't the right place to be asking. If this was clarified, maybe the perception of MM might improve?

Hi all
Must agree with all the coments regarding total lack of support
However I did try contacting them by phone and the lady in SALES was very helpful as far as possible. But she did inform me telephone support is due to come on line in about 30 days. Truth or Lie... Don't know but may be worth a try at the back end of July.

If you do want to phone them and not use their money making 0844 number. The geographical number is 0118 906 2600

It does make you wonder if enough people keep their phone line busy asking for technical support and clogging the sales lines, it would be in their own intrest to change.

Up the revolution!!!

I believe this is called cherry picking.

"The aim of the Memory-Map forum has and always will be for a community driven support resource".

I think they've just invented this, to suit their purpose.
I don't recall seeing it ever before.

Once upon a time, there was good support for the forum, from MM in GB
(in addition to the support from the community and from USA).

Dales.
