I tried to do the self upgrade earlier as I am desperate to be able to lock the screen and stop it doing things whilst in my pocket.
Having purchased a new memory card, I followed the instructions and put it into unit before turning it on. The instructions then state that a diffent menu will open to start the upgrade but I just get the normal menu.
Any ideas from anyone who has managed to do this would be grateful as it should be simple enough and I would prefer not to have to go through the process of sending back another unit.
This is a replacement unit as the original had a faulty touch screen and it was supposed to be an updated model but the screen lock option is not availlable, so it clearly needs to have the firmware update still.

Yes the issue here is the instructions say to unzip the update and put the contents on the microSD card. The update unzips to a directory "adv3500". Its actually the contents of this directory that need to be copied to the microSD card. The unit doesnt recognize "adv3500".
