we are evaluating GPS devices before deciding what to equip our workforce with. to this end we bough 4 adventurer 3500s.
to date only 3 have been out of the box and used, but 2 of those 3 have keeled over within 3 weeks of use.

On one, when turned on it gives an error message - "The application was not correctly closed..etc."
OK'ing that message gives "Application memory map_ce.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down."
OK'ing that puts you back to the Maps/Apps/pic/settings page.
Selecting 'maps' again just repeats that loop.

On the second device often selecting maps just gives as clicking noise but nothing happens.

With both, pressing the reset button SOMETIMES but not always means you go through the loop with the first error message, but the device then goes black screen.
touching the screen you can hear the clicking noise.
i have read the advice about settign screen brightness. but this seems to make no difference.

an email has been sent for support, but i have to say at this time i have these devices pegged firmly as 'unreliable junk'.

on both, I have tried using the reset button next to the usb port, but this makes not make any difference.

For Goodness sake buy a Satmap Active 10. I had an Adventurer 3500 for 6 months about a year and a half ago and I had no end of trouble. All the issues referred to on this forum:screen lock, poor battery etc etc. It finally crashed and went back to Cotswold Outdoor who were very good and gave me a full refund after 6 months of torment. Buy a Satmap Active 10 BRILLIANT!!!
