Hi
Just used my memory map for the first time today, it went ok.
However now that I am home I cannot turn it off??
I have used the button on the front previously, but this button now doesn't do anything.
Any thoughts ?

Look through some previous threads before following this suggestion, but I've seen various references to people having to remove batteries to get their machines to switch off.
I don't have a 3500, so I might be mixing up two different problems, which is why I suggest you research some other threads.

Good Luck.

I had this on my first day out as well - had to take the battery out.
Lucky I still had the Garmin with me.
This device is just so buggy I am thinking of returning it.

I experienced this yesterday. I completed a short walk and used the red X exit button to close the mapping and return to the standard 4 button option CE screen. Pressed the front button to no avail - short press, long press, multiple press - nothing. Did I miss something?

Solved not by removing battery but by connecting to PC at home after which, the button worked.
Bit flakey?

pathfinder_ne,

This is odd, and not something I myself have experienced.
I have passed this over to our development team to investigate

Thanks

Got my 3500 on Monday and this happened to me twice today. On each occasion I was on the Main Menu (with the 4 icons including "Maps"). I had to take the battery out to solve it. Hope this can be sorted out.

I have also just purchased a new AD3500 direct from MM. I upgraded successfully from the download. Not yet managed to use it in the "field"! Not only does the unit fail to switch off without taking drastic action, like re-booting or taking out the battery, it then fails to switch on or to power up with the slider. After a few seconds the screen goes blank
At times the mapping buttons fail to respond despite all sorts of pressure on the keys. If you fail to hit the red cross to exit mapping you will experience even more problems like illegal exit messages appearing. This too will require a re-boot of the unit or at least the removal of the battery.
Memory map have agreed to take back my unit and replace it with an upgraded new unit. Suggest you contact MM to return your unit
