I would just add. that the areas that I have no licence for are still picsalated. (which is correct)
I then connect my Ipad to the internet and active chosen area. disconnect from internet I can still view maps.

No. All your current maps and licenses will work just the same in the new version after the update.

Can you clarify this please.

So I already have some DMS licences installed on my iPhone/iPad. Several of them are fully used, i.e. I bought a set size and picked and chose the areas to activate on my iDevice. I also have a couple licences with some amount of area left that I haven't activated yet.

With the unactivated area, will I be able to continue to activate and download areas on my iDevices with the new version of the app ? Or will I now have to somehow use the PC app to do this ?

I have just purchased the app and am trying to load a map from my PC but I am being asked to sign in to the digital shop even though it tells me as a new user I am not allowed to create an account or purchase content this way! I don't want to purchase content, I just want to use the maps I already have! What do I do?

Have you tried signing in? I think the app just wants to check that you do indeed have the right to use those maps on your device.

If you have purchased a map and activated it on your PC, you still have to activate it on your iOS device. Sign in to the same account you use on your PC, and there will be a button to Activate the map. If it is a DMS selections map, you have to select the area your want to activate. It does not automatically know what area you activated on the PC.

If the map is a third-party map (not Memory-Map branded), you will need to activate the "Import maps" feature on the iOS device. If you have used the map on the PC, you should have the activation rights for a mobile device in your account.

Hi, I just updated to the latest version when prompted by the app store - I bought the full non-free version (when there were two versions) and 3rd party maps/those from CD etc. have loaded fine. I've always used iTunes to load them on.

Now all of a sudden I am being prompted to sign in when I select a map already on the iPhone which loaded fine in the previous version.

I have no account to sign in with as I have never used the on-line map store and can't create a log in now either so I'm stuck!

I understand the update is down to changes made after being forced into it by that bully known as apple inc., but hope there is a workaround of having to sign in?

Thanks in advance.

What map is this that causes you to have to sign in?

You can go to the web interface, http://w2.memory-map.com/login.htm, and create an account there. Then on the iphone, open the map, and sign in to your account. The next dialog will give you the name of the resource that it wants you to activate.

I suspect you are using a third party map, and it needs for you to activate the "Import Maps" license. This license is included with the PC software with which you imported the map. If you don't have the PC software, you can go back to the web interface and click the "Buy Licenses" button.

Yes it says Import Maps, but how come I've not needed this before until you altered the sign in process? I thought I bought the import map feature already when I purchased the iPhone app for £20 a year or so ago. I don't remember ever signing in before to activate anything.
