Use MemoryMap! (It's the search datafile for Moroccan placenames).

Press Search...Load Database...mmi file.

Or just change the name of the file to be the same as the .QCT map(s) (but still with .MMI extension) and put it in the same folder as the map (on PC and/or Mobile Device). The placenames database should then be found automatically.

The same can be done with a .QED (Elevation Data) file if you can find one. The Europe .QED file (on the Support : Downloads page) extends to 34 degrees north, so just includes a little of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Ok, got that running on laptop, so how do I send that MMI place names to the S7000?
Send to mobile device as I did the map?????

Hi Scott,

Yes, if you send the map again it should now also send the placenames file.

But personally, I always "send" the map files to the PC Hard Drive first (using the "Memory Card" path option) and then use Windows Explorer to copy all the files directly to the Mobile Device or a card reader.

JUST Brilliant..!!!
Just returned from a trip around Morocco and into the Sahara, and the S7000 worked great! The scanned map was superb, and I now have a track of where we went, which I will try and retrieve from the S7000 so I can store it on my laptop.
The route we did was VERY rocky in places, VERY dusty and sandy, and the S7000 never missed a beat.
The calibrated map was 95% spot on, just by using Google earth Lat and Longs before the trip. The map was slightly out near the Southern part of our route (by about 600 Yards) , but I think it was due to the printed map being slightly out or slight inaccuracy of my calibrated points and nothing to do with the GPS.
The S7000 is certainly a great bit of kit for 4x4 Overlanding, and I would feel happy to use this as my primary GPS device on future expeditions.
