An obvious omission...... can we have a scale indicator on-screen (option to switch off).

Could I ask which environment you would like to have a scale bar? PC version? Pocket PC, Adventurer 2800, iPhone? But I am thinking that if you mostly use OS mapping the grid squares give you scale directly without the need for a scale bar. I'm not sure I would agree that it is an 'obvious omission', but if you use other mapping without a grid, OK.

The Adventurer 2800 does have a scale bar (Tools Icon>Settings>Map[Tab] Show scale[tick/untick]). Unfortunately you have to close MM and restart it for the change to be effected! I am guessing that other mobile versions of MM have the same setting?
