Good evening,

I have a Adv 3500 and am going to be doing a supported mtb expedition, the thinking was that we could use one battery in the GPS for each day whilst the other was charging in the support van. however it has dawned upon us that this is not possible as the battery charger in the GPS unit. HELP...Quickly Please.

I don't think it would be very difficult to make a separate battery charger but it would be very useful.

I apologise if you do make one an i havent found it.

hi dave
Go on Maplins website you can buy chargers for any type of battery basically you just put the battery in a cradle and a just these prongs to fit the battery terminals. but for mountain biking i use a 10,000 mAh portable power bank plugged into the usb port this run and charges the adventurer no problem

Hi Dave,

It doesn't quite answer your query but I have found a Power-monkey to be very good. However I don't have a mount for the Power-monkey on the handlebars so charging up while riding would be difficult. Also you couldn't do this if it was raining. Having said that, although the 3500 doesn't usually need recharging during a typical day out on the bike, I sometimes connect the Power-monkey and Adv-3500 up in my pocket during lunch if I ever suspect that the battery might run out later in the day.
