As an RA 7000 user, a friend has asked me to see if I can diagnose the problem with his 7000. There is no GPS signal, under any circumstance, and the in-car satnav system says no GPS is found. Memory Map open normally, but finds no satellites and when I close I get an error "Failed to terminate RS232 thread".

I see from the post above that this can be caused by losing contact with a COM port - I assume that although the RA is Windows CE and I can't see any COM ports, there is an internal port somewhere and it may have become corrupted?

I've tried a full reset, with no effect. I haven't tried to reinstall MM - it it worth a try, and would it send my licence to his unit?
