Hi,

Im wondering if anyone here can help me?

After buying an reinstalling a new PC I am struggling to get Memory Map to make any connection to the internet to register the PC to migrate my licence across.

I get the "a problem occurred connecting to the server" error when i try to sign in, and i get "cannot connect to activation server" if i try a to activate something.

However I can connect to the account and activate webpages and sign in and view my account (via the browser) without issue.

To try and resolve this I tried a couple of things (to try and find the issue):

1. Installed a fresh copy of Windows XP - Manages to connect fine without issue and works okay.
2. Reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 32bit then tried installing memory map first - Doesnt connect (both with the firewall enabled and disabled).
2. Reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 64bit then tried installing memory map first - Doesnt connect (both with the firewall enabled and disabled).

I just wondered if you have any ideas, it seems to be restricted to windows 7. So my first thoughts are firewall, but turning it off has no effect. I know the hardware is okay as it works in XP.

I think I can do a manual activation of a demo as a work around to get the PC registered (so i can migrate), however I have credits left to activate and would rather a proper solution which wont be a pain in the future

Thanks,

Lee.

Are you using the Google Chrome browser? We have found that several people have had issues with this browser.

Nope, These are all fresh installs with just the default Internet explorer install.

Thanks

If you go into your browser and type to address http://w2.memory-map.com, does the browser connect to this address?

Just as a update, it did start working for a short period, so i have managed to migrate the licences.

However, it as gone back to not working now. Will have to keep a eye on it.

Strange, as i havent changed anything.

Thanks,

Lee.

ljh123,

I am afraid this suggests a firewall / connection issue at your end.
Have you tried completely disabling your firewall and then seeing if you can connect to the activation server via the PC application?

Thanks
