I am just updating this as things have changed a bit. When I go onto my MM prog, sometimes the last map I was using comes up with a big chunk missing from the middle of it. When I reload it, all the map appears. But it is very...........very............slow. I did read the post about deleting it all again and reloading. But I have some maps that I have bought online at MM. What will happen to them? Also my original prog is National Parks circa 2008\2009. But I do have an upgrade of the 2012 just 1500 sq mtrs. Which i have been gradually downloading. What is the best plan please Support or any other clever person.

This sounds exactly like my problem - now solved.

MM tell you to uninstall everything and reinstall which is very inconvenient and does nothing to help (the equivalent of 'turn-it-off-and-turn-it-on-again).

Try this:

When MM is in go slow check internet activity - is it frantically downloading even though these are maps you have paid for and should be on your computer?
That is the problem that it wants to re-download everything which takes ages.

My solution was to go laboriously through the map one area at a time doing Map, Digital Map shop, Activate Visible Map.
It knew I had already paid for these areas and did not charge me but it did download them properly in such a way that the map is now recognised as being on my machine and its all back to normal operation.

Does that work for you?

Tried this CDEV. I must have a different problem. No internet activity. You would have thought Support might have come on and helped though would you not?

Got to admit, the delete system as per Jason has worked for me. Do not know why. The only thing that I did not do was to delete the C:\maps-v5. I was scared to do that as it contains all my maps. But I am back to normal speed now anyway.
