Hi...

Just been trying to create a separate category called "Hotels" so I can place Marks of different hotels camp-sites etc. in it, but for the life of me I cannot find how to put new marks into a separate (new) category .... I've created a top lever category called "Hotels" but just can't place any marks in it

Thanks

Just drag and drop! You'll find it a bit tedious though.

Shame you can't select multiple marks!

If there are a large number of marks to move it may be less tedious to export to CSV and edit. The category name is added in the same field that indicates the category "Marks" by appending with a colon i.e "Marks:Category Name". You can also nest categories within categories separating with a colon i.e. "Marks:Category Name:sub Category".

This is column M when opening the CSV in Excel.

Hi Guys,

I use a lot of marks in my Memory Map and when I am transferring from one category to another I find it very tedious and awkward, does anyone know of a way of selecting multiple marks and transferring them in one action to another category.?

Cheers..

Hi,

If you already have hundreds of marks in the Marks (or any other) category then AFAIK there's not much you can do except export them as a .CSV file as suggested above and sort/move accordingly in a spreadsheet program. But:

The trick I use is to rename the Marks category to something else, BEFORE importing or creating any new marks. Then MM will put them all into a new, recreated Marks category. When you have the category/set that you want, then rename the category as required and the whole category can be drag/dropped into any new (sub)category.

Cheers, Alan.
