Odd but it seems the same as the free app. Should it crash every time one flips the map or is it simply shutting down due to no GPS signal. Is it possible to have some parameters on the map page ie speed direction etc? Can I adjust the size of the icon showing position, track lines. Have I done something fundamentally wrong? Am I missing a whole toolbar? Help and thanks. John

Hi Brian. Using it on an ipad. I have a small kit aeroplane and the idea was / is to try and draw routes etc. I have been able to get it working so it shows a tiny icon for ones position which seems to be correct. There seems to be no settings tab to change the parameters on the screen. If the GPS hiccups it crashes. Seems if I'm missing lots of the tool bar. Cheers John

But there is a recent thread which implies that the iPad (hardware/firmware) doesn't work well in the air.

Thanks. Rang memory map (helpful chap) this lunchtime and gained more insight. Apparently the free app and the paid app are the same.... just that one can add maps already bought onto the paid on. I think.
Yep... although one can buy the aviation maps it is not geared for this. Also it is not possible to have parameters on the map, change the size and type of icons, nor will it remember changes... such as the track line parameters. Apparently I'm not missing chunks of the toolbar. Could not work out why it crashes but that may be because it is in the air?? cheers and thanks John
