After downloading a Track into MM European edition, hovering over it with the mouse shows only the track (file) number, the distance form the start, and the height, even though I can see the Grid Ref, time, and Mark (as a Waypoint, it seems, though I haven't done a Track to Route conversion) on the (Garmin) GPS.

How do I get these latter to display on the computer?

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you "save" the track within the Garmin? With most Garmins the saved track only contains (reduced) positional data not times.

You probably need to use the "Active Log" data that the Garmin stores (at least until the memory fills, wraps or is deleted by the user).

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan, most kind - the info is indeed only in the Active Log, which had reached 97% abt 2/3 through our walk so I saved the file and started a new Track, which is where I can't see any time data. I'll see if I can copy it manually from the GPS.

Hi,

Personally, I always use my Garmin in "Wrap" mode, so no (recent) data is lost when the track memory fills.

However, the Auto" mode in Garmins can fill the track memory fairly quickly, so I normally use the "fixed logging interval" set to typically one minute (for walking). But some Garmins also offer a "Less Frequent" (track logging) auto mode if you prefer that.

Cheers, Alan.
