I have a mac computer so unable to use memory map software as it is for PC only, so I thought that I will get the app for my iPhone / iPad. I registered and was able to purchase a CAA aviation chart / map through the ipad app which I then used for flying, and it was brilliant I had flown a couple of trips using it.

It has now come to the point where I need to purchase the up to date chart /map. So I click more maps then digital map shop on the iPad and it lists only 12. But in the 12, there are no CAA aviation maps shown. I made sure that the map types is showing "air" but still none are listed.

If I can no longer purchase Avaition maps this app has rendered useless to me now which is a great shame.

Apple told Memory Map to effectively remove the online map shop from the app some months ago. One way to buy is to order the cd & when it arrives transfer the relevant files to your iPad using iTunes.

I get these emails/newsletters occasionally with links & special instructions for iOS users which seem to suggest that if you buy a chart through your browser it will appear in the list of downloadable maps.

Worth a £20 punt perhaps. If it doesn't work complain to MM & get them to send you a cd or email the files; worst case, claim your money back from your credit card.

As a pc & Android person I have no practical knowledge of iOS & in the absence of any clear instructions from MM I would be interested to know if the buy in browser, download in app method works.

Because Apple does not allow direct purchase of maps through the app, you would have to purchase through your browser, as flyboy suggests. You can go to License Management, log into your account, and then select BUY LICENSES. Under the options for MEMORY-MAP EUROPE, you will see the CAA charts listed. After you purchase a mobile license, the maps or charts will show in your Digital Map Shop list on the iPhone / iPad.
