Hi I'm running MM with Navigator and I'm trying to load my own map image, I've saved the image as TIFF in 4 Bit but every time I "refresh" my map list MM crashes. If I delete the file and run refresh - no problems, so the problem is with the file. Any ideas?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

Using Windows 7 by any chance?

Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan

Your cryptic comment led me to try on my old XP desk top and guess what? It worked! Have MM not heard of Windows 7?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

The issue is that Windows 7 has "improved" protection which treats files in the Program Files folder as Read-Only, but that is where MM tries (by default) to write its converted map files.

Create a "QCT" (or similar named) folder elsewhere on your hard drive and in > Map > Map List.. > Refresh Map List.. , browse the "Map Folder" field at the bottom of the panel to the new folder. Do NOT use an existing map folder as MM may delete its contents.

Cheers, Alan.
