TFT screens perform well under artificial light, but in
daylight
they start to wash out and in direct sunlight are imposable
to read. The Sunlight Viewable screen option uses Transflective
technology which works by absorbing sunlight, reflecting
it back over the screen image thus, the brighter the sun,
the
brighter the screen. Of course in the absence of sunlight,
the screen is lit by a backlight in the normal way. So
if
you’re siting the PC in a wheel house or well lit
saloon, the sunlight viewable screen option is a real plus.
